Website handover terms

Website handover

This document summarises the handover terms that apply to all projects. These terms are in effect as of 14th July 2017

1. Project

1.1 Projects are considered complete at the point of website launch or if tasks in the original scope are met.

1.4 If the client wishes to make further changes, additions or amendments to the website, this is considered ‘out of scope’ and scoped/billed separately.

2. Updates, maintenance & software

2.1 As of the date above, the responsibility of website maintenance and software updates including WordPress platform updates are that of the client, unless they have employed the services of Planet Amazing via a website support package.

2.2 The responsibility of site-wide back-ups is now that of the client unless the client has subscribed to a Planet Amazing support package which includes this service.

2.3 The ‘up-time’ of the website is the responsibility of the client’s web hosting company and not that of Planet Amazing Ltd.

2.4 WordPress websites run using many 3rd party plugins that can be updated or modified at any time by the respective development companies. At the time of launch we ensure the site is running correctly but can’t guarantee bug/error-free future updates, these are the responsibility of the respective software developer.

2.5 Planet Amazing will not be held responsible for website issues caused by bugs in 3rd party code/software or by software that has been left by the client to become out-of-date and subject to errors or security issues.

2.6 It is the responsibility of the client to renew any 3rd party software licences that they are subscribed to.

3. Future work

3.1 Planet Amazing Ltd charges for its time in liaising with 3rd party development companies to help resolve technical issues for supported websites only.

3.2 Planet Amazing Ltd is not obliged to allocate time or carry out work on any website that is not subscribed to one of our support packages.

3.3 Planet Amazing Ltd will still continue to offer its services and development time but this will be prioritised to current contracts, current projects and support customers first.

4. Ownership

4.1 If all payments are up-to-date, the website copyright and ownership in its entirety belongs to the client. This includes all content, data and assets.

4.3 Planet Amazing Ltd will provide the client with all log-in details required for their site. This applies to all customers.
